TOY LIBRARY OF KILMORE

TOY LIBRARY OF KILMORE

Welcome to the Toy Library of Kilmore!

2021 - The Year of Fun!!

The Toy Library of Kilmore is pleased to announce that we are

~ recommencing our usual Saturdays and alternate Thursdays ~

from 30 January 2021!!

To help make 2021 the Year of Fun:

  • for current members, we have extended all memberships until 31 January 2022
  • for new members, we are offering half price memberships through 2021

We continue to offer 'click and collect' while we work through covid-related requirements for 'browsing' which will hopefully resume soon.

Currently:

  • you can only return or borrow toys if you have made an appointment here on Mibase
  • you need to reserve toys (4 items only) on Mibase to borrow them, there is currently no browsing
  • entrance is only via the ramp to the carpark (not through the library)

At the Toy Library of Kilmore, we aim to offer a wide range of quality, educational toys and equipment to assist in your child's growth and development.  We have over 400 toys for babies to ~6 year olds (and the young at heart), small and large toys, noisy and calming toys.  Within our collection, we also have toys suitable for children with special needs.  Utilising a toy library saves money, saves the environment, saves storage space in your home, and allows children frequent rotation of stimulating toys which saves the TV from being turned on.

We are a volunteer-run, not for profit service and rely on membership fees, fundraising and grants to provide the best toys for the community.  Also, we ask members to volunteer to assist with open sessions once per term - this is a great way to meet like minded parents!

On this website (aka mibase) you will find our online toy catalogue.  Have a look at our great toys using the menu tabs on the top, especially our 'new' and 'popular' toys!

Location: we are in the same building as the Kilmore Library (cnr Sydney and Bourke Street), though entrance is now only from the carpark opposite the Bowls Club (ramp access).

Looking to join? Check out our T's & C's (link at bottom of this page), email/send a message for any queries, and 'Join Now' with the tab at the top.

Keep up to date with changes at:  https://www.facebook.com/kilmoretoylibrary/

For any questions, or if you would like to become a member, send us a message on facebook, or email:  [email protected]

Hope to see you soon!

Memberships

As a volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation we need members to help to keep things running. Members are therefore required to complete four duties per year (usually one duty per term) alongside a committee member. If a member is unable to attend a rostered duty, a $10 fine will be charged. If a member is unable to commit to four duties per year when signing up, a $40 levy will be charged alongside the membership fee.

Yearly membership fees are determined on the size of the family. In 2021, we are offering half price new memberships.  Each child can borrow 4 items at a time. Though this is limited to 4 items per family with click and collect (hopefully we will move to browsing soon).

One child             $30 (4 items) + $40 if unable to do duties (2021: $15 + $20 if unable to do duties)

Two children        $40 (8 items) + $40 if unable to do duties  (2021: $20 + $20 if unable to do duties)

Three+ children   $50 (12 items) + $40 if unable to do duties  (2021: $25 + $20 if unable to do duties)

Grandparent memberships - same cost, but grandparents are not expected to complete duties unless they wish to. They are not charged the $40 levy.

'JOIN NOW' by using the tab at the top

Committee and Contributing

Anyone is welcome to join our committee! The Toy Library of Kilmore committee consists completely of volunteer toy library members.  We are always looking for new members to join the committee and encourage you to talk to/message/email us if you may be interested.  We meet once a month via Zoom at 7:30pm (or when your kids allow you!), and we have an AGM mid year that everyone is welcome to attend.

If you feel you are unable to commit to joining the committee, but would like to contribute, there are many things you could do to help eg doing extra duties when you're able, or doing a shift at our annual Bunnings BBQ.  Please ask a committee member, or send a message on facebook or email.
